Class description:

In this class, we’ll take junk, found objects, old jewelry parts, and hardware store finds, then integrate stamping, beads, glues, and alcohol inks to create cool, assemblage-art-inspired effects. The result? Amazing, one-of-a-kind jewelry! You will never look at bottle caps, recycling, junk, nuts, scrap pencils, bolts, cotter pins, bicycle inner tubes and washers the same way again - and trips to yard sales and Home Depot will take on a whole new meaning. Learn to craft affordable, durable, and amazing jewelry for guys and gals from hardware and other found objects using glues and basic jewelry findings - No soldering required! Some basic jewelry making experience is helpful, but certainly not necessary. We’ll cover drilling and basic wire manipulation, as well as the findings that can make working with found objects easier! We'll also cover different ways of embellishing and coloring your metal, plastic, and rubber “treasures.” Bring some interesting trash of your own to play with - and walk away with up to three completed projects. Curious to see more sample projects? Check out the Junk Jewels Gallery on my website at eyes a flame

Special notes and items to bring:

This class meets on Tuesdays: October 7th & 14th.

All materials are included for up to three projects. Some basic jewelry-making knowledge is helpful, but certainly not required! I cover the basics and keep it simple.
