Class description:
Have you always wanted to make your own tee shirts? Have you always felt intimidated by the printing process? Come to this workshop and learn how to transfer drawings and photographs to just about anything by using the photo emulsion silk-screening process. Not only will you learn how to “burn” your image into a screen, but you will also learn how to set-up your own silk-screening studio in your home. Class fee covers one 10 x 14 inch silk screen, as well as speedball fabric screen printing ink (available at collage). Please bring to class: A cotton tee shirt, or two. You may want to bring more cotton fabric or even paper to practice on and a 9 inch fabric squeegee available for purchase at collage.
Special notes and items to bring:
Requirements before first day of class: Since your screens will already be prepared with photo emulsion once class starts, I must have your images BEFORE class so I may make copies of them onto transparencies. Get together one high-contrast image that will fit within an 8 x 10 inch frame. The image may be two different images, but they must fit within the required measurements of 8 x 10 inches. The instructor must receive your image TWO days before class starts. You may send it to her by email (jpeg format) or you can drop it off at the DIY Lounge. Any questions? Email Nicole directly at nicole@ciprianodesigns.com
