Class description:

Want to show your artwork but don’t know exactly what that entails? This class will help you get your work out there in a coffee shop, restaurant, or other alternative exhibition space. Learn the basics of documenting your work, portfolio presentation, choosing the right space for your work, working with a venue owner, writing a contract, promoting the exhibition, hanging the show, and planning an artist reception.

All students will receive valuable handouts covering information discussed in the class as well as a CD with important documents and forms for their own use. This class is primarily lecture based with plenty of time for questions to be answered and information shared. There is a minor writing component.

Special notes and items to bring:

This class is a prerequisite for The Art of Exhibiting 102.
